I decided to get this album during the beautiful holiday of Navaratri, the 9 days in celebration of the forms of Devi Durga, this album has been great for my Sadhana (Practice), and has helped me go deeper and deeper into it. The album has been created with recordings from the interactive sound installation ‘Listen to My Heartbeat’ at Meanwhile Space in Harrow, London, from July 7th to 17th 2016.
All sounds used for these tracks are modulated string vibrations triggered by participants' heartbeat measurements. Up to five participants could participate at any time in the installation and have their heartbeats picked up by finger pulse sensors and mechanically translated into droning sound from five tanpura built from recycled tabletops. A photo from the installation is enclosed in your download.
Two of the tracks have the inclusion of birdsong, recorded in Harrow during the event.
